Juana Change for Coconuts Manila

Juana Change, one of the country's most popular social media pundits on YouTube, was at the Million People March in Quirino Grandstand today. Wearing a blonde wig and a pig's snout, she came as a pig in a barrel and was dressed in a provocative red spaghetti strap top, white opera gloves, pearl necklace, pink shoes, and a skirt made of thousand-peso bills. It was a sendup of Janet Lim Napoles, the alleged mastermind of the PHP10-billion pork barrel scandal that has hit the Philippine government. In a speech that lasted about 15 minutes, Juana Change admonished the Filipino people for letting Janet Napoles get away so easily and asked, where will everyone be after the Million People March: will they forget about the issues once they go back to the comforts of their homes? Her day started as early as 6am, and she was at Luneta Park by 8am, mixing with fellow protesters and posing for fans. Our photographer Geric Cruz spent the day with her and took these photos.
